Summary
It's ironic (and unspeakably cruel) that the first time Jaskier met Geralt Rivian was fifteen minutes before his wife's funeral.
It's even crueler, some nine years later, he's the only one who remembers that moment they shared in that church parking lot.

Summary
“Geralt,” as soon as he goes to speak, he finds that the words sit heavy on his tongue, like he’s swallowing molasses. “Did Yennefer… hit Hadria?”
“No.” Geralt’s response is immediate, his voice a bitterly cold snap in the otherwise uncomfortably silent room. He’s not quite yelling, but he’s close—the threat underlying his tone unmistakably clear. If Yennefer had put her hands on Hadria, they would not be having this conversation. If Yennefer had put her hands on Hadria, she would be—
“Did Yennefer hit you?”
There’s a long stretch of silence, too long to be comfortably ignored. When he speaks, his voice is a small and quite unconvincing rasp in the back of his throat, “No. No, she… No.”

Summary
Geralt looks at Jaskier, a little helpless. “I’m trapped.” He says. Jaskier realizes that Ciri is laying on one of his arms. He could probably still move it, but not without running the risk of hurting the petite teenager. The other arm is still somehow around Hadria—that can’t be comfortable.
“I see that.” Jaskier winces as his back cracks. Maybe he’d hit the floor harder than he thought, or… Nope, he’d landed on the bat. Wonderful. Thank god tomorrow was Saturday—he didn’t know what he’d do if he had to go in and teach classes after all of this. “I’m just going to… go sleep on the couch.” Where it’s safe.
“Wait—you’re not even going to help me?” If Jaskier isn’t mistaken, there’s a definite hint of panic in his voice. The girls were liable to keep him pinned like this for hours—he had to start getting ready for work at seven.
Jaskier pulls a face, “I don’t know what you expect me to do. Clearly, they’ve decided that you’re the best pillow in the house—” He can’t quite keep the bitterness from seeping into his tone.
“Jas… are you jealous of two sixteen-year-old children wanting to cuddle with me?” He asks, incredulous and more than a little amused. Jaskier’s face flushes a violent red.

Summary
“Jaskier…? Jaskier, what’s the matter?” Geralt’s voice is muffled by their carpet, the soft, worn fibers blocking Jaskier’s cellphone speaker. He’d heard the soft thud that Jaskier’s phone had made when it’d hit the ground, followed by a long stretch of radio silence that absolutely could not be a harbinger of anything good—
“B-Blood.” Jaskier’s voice sounds foreign to his ears—it’s a tiny, wheezing thing, that is far more air than sound. He doubts that it’s loud enough for Geralt to hear wherever he’d fallen… “T-There’s so much… G-Geralt, I… I was only gone for f-fifteen minutes, not even—” His breath hitches in his throat as his brain struggles to make sense of the scene before him.
The couch where Ciri had been resting is soaked in blood.

Summary
“You’re still okay with this?” Jaskier checks. Surprisingly, Geralt is. The silks seem to be holding well, and if he focuses on the way his boyfriend’s cock is bobbing, beads of pre bubbling up from the slit to drip down in long, thin strings onto the bed, he can almost forget that he’s dangling above him.
“Hmm,” he nods, rubbing the tip of his cock along the velvety curve of Jaskier’s lips. Jaskier grins, his tongue darting out to tease the slit with little kitten licks. When Jaskier makes no further move to take him into his mouth, Geralt rolls his eyes, “Yes, Jask. I’m still okay with this.”
He grins, “There it is… You know how much I love to hear your voice, darling.”
“You love to torture me, is more like it—” Geralt’s snark comes to an abrupt halt when that perfect mouth opens wide and—“Fuck.”

Summary
“I wouldn’t have suggested we do this if I thought it would go badly, love.” Jaskier reassures—though this does little to calm Geralt, who is actually starting to feel nauseous as they round the corner and Hadria’s school enters his line of sight.
“You didn’t think asking her for permission to marry me would go badly, either.” Geralt says, not intending for the words to have quite as much bite as they do. He’s just trying to say that Jaskier doesn’t know Hadria quite as well as he thinks he does, is all.
“Yes, well…” Jaskier reaches for Geralt’s hand, running a calloused finger over the smooth gold of his wedding band. “Everything worked out in the end, didn’t it?” While that is true, that doesn’t mean that there hadn’t been quite a few bumps in the road to get there. “Geralt… I understand why you’re worried—but this is your daughter. No matter how upset she is, she’d want to see her father for Thanksgiving.”
Geralt wrinkles his nose, “Then, why couldn’t she come home?”
