You may find yourself thinking "???" when you read these tags. Well. In ep 9, we see Izzy eating on deck as he pontificates to the crew, and I thought.... what if food is his happy place, but he has a conflicted relationship with it because his internalized stress/rage give him tummy problems?
And what if Izzy's a slut for pain, but he only puts up with degradation/humiliation because that's the only way he thinks he can be loved? What if Roach also loves pain, but in a playful way? And what if Roach can't stand to see someone go unfed on his ship?
In The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky wrote, "We accept the love we think we deserve..." and that kind of drove this fic.

Summary
Hi all! I'm back to answer the question no one asked:
what if Israel Hands is a grumpy old battle scarred tomcat and Roach is the only person on board who can tame him? And what if these two feral men find themselves raising a cat of mysterious origins?
As before, there's angst, healing, profound silliness, culinary antics, and also now a literal cat. The slow burn continues, because let's face it - Roach could catch anyone he wants. He's after Izzy for that tender tender rehabilitation.
Part one was mostly Roach POV, this work is mostly Izzy POV. I'll be back to visit these two, but for now here's a sweet little interlude.
