Summary
Look. I'm not kidding about this. It's not that I'm an anti-shipper, I just never GOT it-- if it's not spelled out in the source material, why do the characters need to be together? WHY CAN'T THEY JUST BE GOOD FRIENDS? THERE ARE MANY KINDS OF LOVE!
Then I started reading TUA fic and suddenly, BAM! I'm done for! If you're going to ship someone, ship the slightly feral 58-year-old hitman in a 13-year-old body whose most significant romantic relationship was with a mannequin and actually reads as gray-ace and also by the way is obsessed with stopping apocalypses, with his 30-year-old trans bisexual adoptive brother who has also by the way CAUSED those apocalypses! IT'S THE ONLY WAY!
One COULD read them as Platonic Soul Mates. I honestly tried to write them as Platonic Soul Mates, but then another part of my brain keeps screaming "NOW KISS!" at them. They're Queerplatonic Soul Mates. I think that's the best term really.
