Summary
Sam's convinced he's cursed. Every time he gets romantically interested in someone they up and die or leave him to flee to the other side of the world. Dean thinks he's a moron for thinking that. But what does Dean know? Nowadays he's got Cas while Sam's stuck treading water, working too much, struggling financially, and trying to make his cat stay indoors. (Good luck with that.) But who is he to complain? He's got a good life. He's happy. No, really. He is. Seriously. So what if he forgets to eat sometimes and sleep doesn't come as it should. Dean should stop worrying because he isn't depressed. He isn't. He's fine. He would have continued to be very much "fine thank you" if it wasn't for that blond man with the cold blue hooded eyes outside of the pet store that rudely threw his world for a loop.
Lucifer isn't a fan of people or the human race in general. Since his best friend left to backpack around the world he's alone and he likes it that way. If people just leave him be he's content. Or so he tells himself. But then there's the cat that comes to visit whether he wants it or not. He can live with that, he supposes. That tall beautiful stranger on the other hand? A man can go mad for less.

The thought of her best friend being able to help out in the matter doesn't even cross her mind, despite how close they are.
Not until Lucifer, fed up on her whining, rolls his eyes and says “Yes, well. If you need me, you know where to find me,” does she consider that she has a perfectly willing dick-wielder (whom she trusts) in the couch beside her. Even better, since she full on hates his girlfriend, sex with a guy can actually happen.

Summary
Just like love can happen at first meeting, so can friendship. Lucifer (36) and Dean (36) is the proof of that. Luci may have lied about his name and pretends he's never met Dean's brother (God knows what would happen if Dean found out Luci is the opposing counsel in Sam's latest case), but apart from that Dean is the first person since Charlie he feels totally comfortable with. Dean fills the void Charlie left when she went off backpacking around the world a couple of years ago. Yes. Luci and Dean can be themselves in each others' company. Maybe the world would be a better place if they couldn't, but that's another story.
Going out barhopping with Dean again seemed like a somewhat good idea. Now, six, or seven(?) bars later everything Dean suggests seems like a great idea!
