Feeling like she’s got her tail between her legs, Toph turns on her heel and places her hand on the doorknob, though just before she twists it to make her swift exit, Kanto walks out from behind his desk and up to her, leaving a good few feet of distance between them. And while she wishes she could close that distance, he says, “T—I just—you were all I could bring myself to think about while I was in there.
“You took the pain away, you were—you made it all stop. Your smile, your laugh, the way you tease me, what you said to me before the mission… All of it.” He sighs. “All of it.”
