If there was one woman in this world that Mace paid more attention to than the others and for no particular reason, it was Jedi Master Luminara Unduli. She had seduced him without doing anything in particular, he was frankly puzzled by himself. She was simply being herself and being a good Jedi, and Mace liked her for her work and her dedication... but also more generally for everything else. She was a nice person to have around, even if it happened very rarely.
He did not have the time to deal with everyone's little domestic issues, but for her, he could make an effort.
Just because he felt a strong attraction that would not be returned did not mean that he was not going to do his best to help her when she came to him personally to talk about her problems.
