It’s that time of the year again. The air nips just enough to hurt, and the ground is covered in slush and snow. Bucky walks down the street with his head down. He doesn't need to see where he’s going. He memorised the route from his house to Steve’s little apartment a long time ago.
Shoving his hands deeper into his pocket, Bucky trudges on.
When he arrives at Steve’s place, his cheeks are rosy, and his toes are numb. Taking a breath, he pauses at his best friend’s door. Anxiety thrums steadily in his chest. What if Steve turns him away? Bucky is sick. A kind of sickness that medicine can’t heal.
Summoning up the courage, Bucky knocks.

It was almost too easy to convince the Avengers that Bucky and him were dating. No one blinked an eye at the fact that he was now living in the Avengers Tower with his "boyfriend".
