Summary
CuteGuy looked around Scar's apartment, smiling affectionately.
He caught himself, realizing that his heart was in his eyes. It was a little embarrassing to be so unabashedly fond in front of HotGuy.
Speaking of whom… the hero seemed to be breathing heavily. Maybe he’d pushed himself too hard to get here quickly.
“Here, sit down for a minute. You look winded,” CuteGuy said, pointing him to the couch. “Let me get you something to drink.” He went straight for the cupboard to the right of the stove, where Scar kept the glasses.
HotGuy sat down heavily, making a rasping noise in the back of his throat.
Better hurry with that water, Grian thought.Or: Mumbo is out of town, Grian's apartment is being remodeled, and CuteGuy needs a safe place to preen his wings. Suddenly, HotGuy finds himself somewhere much too familiar.

Summary
“Where would you go?” HotGuy gasped, breath rattling. “Can you take me to your lab?”
Grian clutched at his hair with his free hand, consulting his mental map of the city while keeping pressure on the hero's wound. Mumbo’s place, where their lab was, wasn’t any closer than HotGuy's. “I would, but it’s - it’s too far, I’m sorry, I don’t know where to go,” he said.
Then it hit him - he’d been mentally searching for places related to his CuteGuy persona, when his own apartment was not far away. He opened his mouth, about to offer to bring HotGuy to “a place I know,” but the hero spoke first.
“I’ve got a friend - lives nearby. He’ll help. Three blocks - uh - that way, then right and down the road.”
Grian breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed HotGuy had a connection in one of the handful of apartment complexes around where Grian lived. And if the friend wasn’t home, they’d be close to another option.Ruffled Feathers role-reversal AU, in which HotGuy is the one who needs help and Grian is the one with a nearby apartment.

Nauseous, ice-cold dread fell heavy into the pit of Grian's stomach as he realized what was happening. The bats were draining his magic.
Grian slapped his hands over his face - and not a moment too soon, as he felt it revert under his fingers to the face of Grian, not CuteGuy.
