Eddie quickly perked his head up and shifted his gaze to Buck, who was wearing the most disgusted look on his face. The fire’s calm flames bathed Buck in a soft orange glow, his blue eyes soft despite his obvious discomfort. He was wearing a frankly ridiculous sweater, but he looked so soft and comfortable that Eddie felt even warmer than the fire in front of him. It was a beautiful sight, he thought. But Buck was always a beautiful sight to him.

Eddie squinted at the small cup his boyfriend was tilting towards his lips, the disgusting red liquid sloshing inside. The one that tasted like metal and the color gray. It may as well have been pure poison with how awful it tasted. Eddie kept his lips tightly sealed, and turned his head away in defiance, adding a childish hmph for good measure.

The demand fell on deaf ears and Chris tapped the leg of the man very gently. “Sir? Excuse me? Can I borrow your scarf? I don’t have one and my snowman will get cold without it!”
Eddie panted as he shuffled through snow to catch up. He was ready to scold his son when the man turned around. Soft blonde curls, full pink lips, and a splotch of color matching said lips dotting his eyebrow— the man was downright gorgeous. Eddie stopped in his tracks when the man replied to Chris.

Summary
Eddie didn’t hear her reply as he took in the sweaters the family was wearing. They were a nice, rich red color— the one that just screamed Christmas. There were classic holiday patterns adorning the collars and hems, the cuffs being solid white. Smack in the middle of the chest read MILLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS. It was tacky, but Eddie smiled at the sight. It was a cute and domestic thing, he thought. A nice symbolization of the unbreakable bond that was family.
His best friend seemed to be deep in thought as he stared at the family, though. His eyes were shiny in awe and he was biting his bottom lip.

He opens the restroom door, and almost cries at the sight. It’s definitely been tidied up, considering Eddie left it a mess before he bolted off to work the day before. The bathtub is full, sudsy water reaching the brim. It’s steaming, and Eddie wants to jump in now. He practically rips his clothes off with shaky hands, sinking deep into the hot water of the bath. He groans, immediately feeling the vile cold within him retreat just the tiniest bit. He lays there for what he thinks must be less than a minute before the door is opening again.
“Hey,” Buck mumbles. “I know you don’t do baths often but… I know it’s been a tough day. So, lemme take care of you, yeah? Y- You can say no if you want, of course.”
