This is important to note, he thinks- he's relatively observant, all things considered, and he's made himself well known among his peers for his ability to use his environment for hare-brained schemes that somehow always manage to work out mostly in his favor- because he wants it to be known that he's not the kind of person to be easily blindsided by information that other people would consider obvious.

Summary
Shouta and Hizashi have a pretty good thing going, relatively speaking.
They're married, they live together, they coparent two cats (Mochi and Bastard, if anybody's wondering), and life is generally pretty good. Granted, Hizashi can't talk about his husband- given all the dangers of doing work out of the public eye, and Shouta's general disdain for the press, it was a decision Shouta proposed and they both agreed to- but that's a small price to pay for relative domestic bliss.
And then Eraserhead goes missing in the field, and that quiet peace they've held for the past decade and change goes up in a puff of smoke.

Of course, if you've accepted that the dead don't always stay dead, and you have the ability to see things that other people can't on a regular basis, then who's to say what is or isn't a hallucination? Who's to say what is or isn't real?

Summary
Ten years after the Final War, society has generally returned to normal function. The League of Villains voluntarily entered rehabilitation programs, and have presumably become productive citizens in the interim, not that that matters to most people in the day-to-day.
Closer to home, Todoroki Natsuo is nearly done with his residency, more than done with his first serious relationship (though it still stings), and kind of sick of being one of the only single guys around. Trauma surgery may be one of the specialties that sucks the life out of a relationship, but that doesn't mean that starting one is impossible... right?
