It was dark all around her, no matter how many times she blinked her eyes to clear her vision. She wasn’t sure if that was better than when she had blood running into her eyes from cuts on her face. The tacky feeling on her skin let her know that at least some of the blood had dried. Another bump shifted her body, a low groan of pain escaping her. She couldn’t stretch out her legs at all, couldn’t straighten her back. They must have put her in the trunk of a car. She tried to move her mouth, the duct tape still covering it. Maybe the blood, sweat, and tears had loosened the adhesive at all?
The gag barely budged.
