Right before stepping onto the ice she reminded herself of the conversation she had had with her dad earlier, Shane’s words still rang in her head, “We may not be related by blood, but you share your father and I’s spirit, don’t forget that.” and how could she?
Phoebe steps out onto the rink and circles a few times while waiting for her introduction. It might just be the built up nerves but right now the lights feel so much brighter than normal and she has this weird feeling in her stomach. Phoebe doesn’t have time to worry about that now as she hears the announcer begin her introduction, first in English then in French.
“Representing Canada, Phoebe Hollander-Rozanova. Représentan le Canada, Phoebe Hollander-Rozanova” The sound of the announcer fills the air and Phoebe skates towards the center of the rink.

Once everyone has received their jackets it's time to announce the Olympic team to the public.

“And starting at center, your captain, #24, Shane Hollander.” The crowd erupts right as the announcer finishes.
“Phoebe say ‘go daddy!’” Ilya tells her, lifting her up so she's now standing on his thighs. The camera cuts to Ilya and Phoebe for a second giving the whole arena a view of Phoebe cheering for Shane.
“Looks like Hollander has an extra supporter tonight.” One of the announcers quips before the screen returns to the players on the ice. The game starts and Phoebe is loving it. She’s watching intently and cheering along with the crowd, although sometimes for the wrong team.

“Seems like it” Shane replies.
“There is one gift I think Santa forgot to put under the tree though.” Ilya says cheekily, turning towards Shane.
“Oh ya what's that?” Shane asks, and quickly gets an answer when Ilya begins to pull Shane's shirt up and off. Ilya then pulls shirtless Shane into him and kisses him deeply.
