Calren knew he shouldn't be here. He shouldn't allow himself to be alone with Cýliane — not with everything that had been going on. The tension. The dreams. The way she set something sinister alight in his soul. He should avoid her at all cost, or at least have a witness present at all times to keep both of them in line.
And yet, here they were. Hidden away in an empty room in the hospital wing. No pair of eyes on them except for each other's, dangerously close to an edge Calren doubted he would ever forgive himself if he fell over. Or worse: If he jumped.
Angel/demon hatefuck ship ensues through a coerced deal and flirty threatening banter I guess

“I knew you'd come.” She sat at the edge of the bed, her crossed legs showing through the thigh-high slit of her velvet skirt. Her gown was long enough to touch the floor, adorned with intricate beading and decorative stitches, and its burgundy tone brought out the green of her eyes — rich and deep, like an ancient forest, too easy to get lost in. “Meeting up with the Heavenly Guard always leaves you wound up.”
Calren scoffed. “And you think you're the one I come to when I feel like shit?”
The magical projection of his voice slipped into her thoughts as easily as he imagined normal people got regular words past their lips.
Cýliane shrugged. “You're here, aren't you?”
Slowly, she rose and stalked towards him with all the determination and elegance of a ravenous tiger.

“That’s a literal angel in there,” she pointed out. As if Cýliane hadn’t caught on to that already. “Now, I don’t mean to offend. I’m sure there are plenty of evil, corrupted angels out there, so correct me if I’m wrong, but … isn’t he the ultimate enemy?”
“Not sure yet.” Cýliane pondered for a long moment, looking at the now-closed bedroom over her shoulder. (...) “An enemy? Definitely. The enemy? I doubt it, to be honest.” Finally, the demon shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. Right now, he’s just a pretty boy tied to my bed.”

Upon that, he chuckled, and Cýliane startled as something close to relief scratched at the edge of her mind. Muted, still, as all of her emotions were — merely a faint echo of a life long abandoned — but shockingly similar to what she remembered of the emotion.
“It’s refreshing to hear that question asked not out of a need to protect me or avenge my suffering. Just that typical morbid curiosity of yours.”
Cýliane shrugged, still eyeing the marks left all over him like someone had tried to torture the literal key to heaven out of him. “I simply want to know which unhinged sadist to keep on my side.”
