“Oh har-har, you're so cute and funny.” Azul couldn’t help but be sarcastic, it was the beginning of the day and it was already off to a bad start. He turned his head to the side so he could actually see Jamil. “I got stopped a ton of times on my way here, which made me run a bit late.”
“Oh you poor, sweet, popular child, however will you manage.”

Summary
Azul still saw Floyd and Jade plenty, but he was missing everyone else. Especially Jamil, the person near and dearest his heart.
They had gone long-distance during their fourth year. It wasn’t something Azul loved and was very straining, but he loved Jamil and it was clear how happy the man was at this point in life. He would take a long distance relationship over Jamil being upset ten times out of ten.
Azul nudged Jamil’s knee with his own, smiling a sweet smile when his boyfriend looked over at him. Jamil returned his smiles with a small and very clearly forced one, pushing Azul’s knee further away.
That was…odd.

The second years are finally graduating, and have returned to Sage's Island for a week for grad practice. Azul and Jamil had decided to try a long-distance relationship while they were doing their internships and it seems that hadn't worked out as well as they had hoped.

“Oh hell no. After that stunt you pulled earlier, your definitely getting on that carpet.” Great, now Jamil is dragging him. Just fan-fucking-tastic.

Summary
Jamil hummed in affirmation, yet again turning to watch the people dancing the night away on the ballroom floor. Then suddenly, he got an idea. A very bad and very stupid idea. But this was a party, a singular time he can indulge in whatever he’d like and whomever he’d like.
Jamil downed his drink and placed the empty glass on the table. “Hey Azul, let’s dance.”
“Wh-what?”
“Comeon, let’s dance.” Jamil grabbed the drink from Azul’s hand and set it down on the party table near his own empty cup. Then he gently grabbed Azul’s arms and started walking them both on to the dance floor.
“Jamil I don’t know about this—“
“It’ll be fun, I promise.”

Summary
“Do you really plan on standing out in the cold forever?” Azul, shocked out of his stupor, quickly turns his head towards the voice. There was Jamil, in his pajamas hugging his arms. It was likely too cold for him tonight, after all he was used to the brightness that is the Scalding Sands.
“It isn’t too cold for me, I did grow up towards the bottom of the sea after all. On the other hand, you don’t look to be fairing too well.”
“I’m fine. Some winter nights in the Scalding Sands can actually be worse than this, I just don’t appreciate it much.”

Overblots are traumatic events, so it makes sense that the survivors are granted the gift of Chronic Nightmares. One night, both Azul and Jamil have one, leaving them to question who they are in the eyes of the Seven they look up to so dearly.
