Beelzebub had been invited to the garden by their boss; well, ‘boss’ implied a hierarchy that hadn’t quite been set in place in Hell yet. It was still pretty close to the Fall, or a long time, there wasn’t really a way to tell as time did not exist yet. The demon Crawley, who Beelzebub had been following around because fewer demons messed with him, had been chosen to tempt the humans to eat a piece of fruit by Satan himself.
Or an introduction to the other half of the swap AU. Can you call characters ooc if they're in a different universe?

Summary
Crowley was on Earth for two reasons; to meet with his rather evasive representative and because he was interested in seeing this ark the humans were building. Finding and talking to Beelzabub was not nearly as annoying as he thought it would be, resulting in him being in a decent mood for a change.

Their unspoken agreement stood for the next few centuries. Whenever something interesting happened on Earth the pair would meetup nearby. Around the invention of calendars, the agreement became a more certain thing. Meetups were scheduled with years and days instead of just intuition that the other would show.

They met on Sundays, the days Aziraphale came to meet with his Earth representative and or attend a human religious gathering of some kind. Therefore it was only natural that the Supreme Archangel would arrive before the much busier Duke of Hell.

It was the day after the Supreme Archangel had shown up soaking wet on the doorstep of the library. Beelzebub had talked with him long into the night trying to figure out why he was there, and more confusingly, why he had no memory. It was a rather fruitless endeavor as they had to keep restarting the conversation when Gabriel would interject and throw the Archangel’s train of thought off. Really by the end of it the best lead they had was from their brief conversation with Shax from before they had even came across the Archangel. Something was going on in Heaven, that was pretty much it. Not having the means to investigate Heaven though, Beelzebub chose to look for clues where they knew Aziraphale spent a decent chunk of his time, Earth.

Aziraphale had been staying in the library for three days and seemed intent on annoying Gabriel in every way possible. While B did their best to run interference they weren’t at the library all the time. Beelzebub had assigned themself the task of figuring out the mystery around the amnesiac Supreme Archangel and was often out hunting down leads or being hounded by their boss. When his partner was here Gabriel could actually get things done without the other angel following him around and asking a million questions. He really couldn’t understand how Beelzebub had the patience to put up with it.

It had been 11 painfully long days since Crowley had lost his connection to Abel, and with it his connection with Aziraphale, his closest friend of six thousand years and husband of the last 10. The sensation of losing contact with his snake was rather underwhelming, like a popping in his ears. This wasn’t the first time something had happened to one of his snakes, though this one did stand out. His snakes were immune to most physical harm, still they sometimes were discovered by not too pleased angels. They were just as weak to holy weapons as the demon himself was.

Crowley was positively livid and even that felt like an understatement. It really should not have come to this but here he was in the damned library he’d visited twice before and still with no answers about Aziraphale. The demon didn’t think he could be any more annoyed but unfortunately all of the other Archangels and Dukes of Hell were present and the general chaos of the situation was headache inducing.

Summary
As Supreme Archangel, Aziraphale had a lot of duties on his plate, some he liked more than others. For instance he took great joy in casting blessings or delivering good news for the humans. Although the messaging was more Gabriel’s duty as well as most of the small miracles. But that was fine, it just made the rare moments that Aziraphale got to do them feel more special. He also liked the annual meetings with Hell’s head office though that was more due to the particular demon he met with rather than the subject or contents of the meetings. By far his favorite part of his job was the freedom to go down to Earth so frequently. Whether it was for a report or an important blessing he could always find time at least once a week to slip away for a few hours.
