She stumbled through the streets of New York, her hair dripping down the back of her dress. When she picked out this outfit, she didn't expect to be rained on. The sheer material stuck to her arms and thighs, meaning that she had to keep prying it from her skin.
Goosebumps raised on her forearms, and she hugged herself, shivering.
Beside her, a sleek black BMW drove slowly, keeping close to the curb.
"Get in the car, Trinity" Baran Al-Hashimi rolled down the back window, calling out to the woman on the sidewalk.
"No" Trinity snaps.

Trinity's phone lay on the kitchen counter, all three members of the household staring at it.
"You're going to have to call her back sooner or later, Trinity" Victoria said, breaking the silence.
"Says who." Trinity responds, chin up in defiance.
"Says us, Trin." Dennis snaps "We can't keep recieving all her gifts. We're running out of space."
Gifts of varying lavishness kept turning up on their doorstep.
Flowers, to jewlerry, to art, to furniture; a constant onslaught of packages was cluttering up their living room. Baran was not giving up. With every missed call, a new gift showed up.
