Summary
“Shame,” Vivian’s face is still on Julian's shoulder, his lips touching Julian's collarbone as his hot breath tingles upon his skin. “This cake is for two people only.”
“You’re not keen on sharing, aren't you?” Julian says, a smirk playing on his lips as he brings a slice of cake to Vivian’s mouth, who inhales it in one go. “Consider that as a token of my gratitude for bringing me here. Is this truly my birthday gift?”
“Do you want a ring as your birthday gift?”
“Pardon?”
“I meant…” Vivian’s hand that had been on his waist climbed higher until it was now touching his chest. “I reserved lunch and dinner reservations for us both. We can talk about soccer there like there is no tomorrow.”
Vivian and Julian spend their birthdays with each other.

Summary
And there Vivian is, his husband in everything but in name, smiling at Julian. He knows that things between them had changed since they first met, for better or for worse, and Julian knows that Vivian is never going to forgive him for labeling him as merely being Honore’s guardian instead of a full-fledged father, nor marrying him, but he can pretend that they were both still the same starry-eyed teenagers who first met in a football mock match. Vivian smiles at him like Julian was still the faultless god sitting on a gilded throne.
It makes Julian sick. It makes Julian feel as if golden pride glitters around him.
Thirty-nine years into the future, Vivian and Julian are unmarried with a child.

Summary
“Touchy today, aren't we?” Julian could not hide the irritation radiating off from his face as Vivian tries to move in this cramped space. He tries, and fails, ending up grabbing Julian's ass. If Julian himself could barely move in this closet, he would've believed Vivian did it on purpose.
Still doesn't excuse the fact that the hand stayed in Julian's ass for a good minute.
Vivian clears his throat, clearly unrepentant. “Sorry.”
Julian narrows his eyes. “Right.”
Loki and Hugo are trapped inside a locker thanks to Charles's meddling. Things escalate.

His face morphs into a sad expression. “I failed.”
Julian frowns. “What?”
“I want to become your number two, the moment I met you. Our destinies intertwined that very day, and I was prepared to see a life standing by you. I am your most loyal follower, and yet, I have failed.”
“In the wake of defeat, I failed to make you happy.”
Julian feels like vomiting as he watches Vivian finally let his tears fall.

Summary
Bunny chuckles. “Is this name what you call the devil you made a deal with to become the best soccer player in the world?”
Julian’s eye twitches. “I made no such deals with anyone.”
“Well it is not ‘anyone,’ don't you think? A devil is not a human being. It is not an angel either. The more they look human, the more dangerous they are.”
Julian grits his teeth. “There is no such thing as Satan, or any devil in capacity, the same way there is no God. I am the God of football, and Hugo is merely my number two.”
Julian does not believe in God, as he believes that he is the deity of his own life. His philosophy grabs the attention of an entity that grants his wish to become the best player in the world. Casualties included.
