Summary
A year before the Reaper War begins, Samantha Traynor thanks Commander Cassandra Shepard for saving her colony on Horizon with a kiss. They don’t expect to meet again, but when Samantha is assigned to the Normandy during the opening days of the war, coincidence turns into something far more complicated. Between impossible missions, late-night chess games, and a galaxy slowly falling apart around them, what begins as a chance encounter becomes something deeper, quieter, and far more deliberate.

Summary
After the Crucible, Shepard doesn't wake up. Inside the coma, her mind builds Thedas, and a version of Samantha to guide her through it. She doesn't know any of this. She only knows her name is Rook, the fight isn't over, and something about the Inquisitor's voice feels like the only solid thing in the world.
A companion piece to The Long Game. Not really a sequel as much as a spin-off that I haven't yet decided is canon to the universe it belongs in.

I had this concept in mind for a while, inspired by the fact that Samantha Traynor and the Inquisitor are both voiced by Alix Wilton Regan. Also, there are so many parallels between Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Mass Effect... not to mention Rook just feels like a younger Shepard. It's an idea that writes itself, really.
