We all know the story of Kara Zor-El.
Sent to earth on the day of Kryptons destruction to protect her cousin, we know that her pod got knocked off course, that she spent 24 years in the phantom zone, and we know she got adopted by the Danvers and became Supergirl.But what if she didn't?
On earth-16, a thirteen year old Kanan Zor-El loses everything in the destruction of his home planet, Krypton.
The only thing he has is the mission to raise and protect his baby cousin, Kal-El no matter what. After spending 24 years lost, asleep in the phantom zone, he crash-lands outside an DEO base and was, by nothing short of a tragedy, found by the DEO first.The agents there viewed him as a threat that had to been contained, and ripped him from his pod, putting him into a cage and testing on him with scalpels and knifes made out of Kryptonite. Flash forward 6 years, and heʼs found by a disguised J'onn J'onzz, who rescues him and takes him in as his own.
Will Kanan find out that there's more to this strange planet than suffering and pain?

Book 2 of the Kanan chronicles!
Now that Kanan has dealt with the DEO, he's free to deal with other things, like learning about human culture with his friend Maya, eating sushi every day, and becoming a (rather reluctant) superhero.
But when his cousin, the Superman of earth, finds a child locked away in a lab made by his enemy, and abandons him out of fear, it's up to Kanan and his new family to take care of the human-krytonian hybrid, and just maybe learn to get past their own traumas too.
