She's almost looking forward to it, so naturally Kinich finds her while she's buying ore and tells her that Mavuika wants to see her at the Stadium the day after tomorrow.

It's a day like any other today, as far as Mualani can tell, but something just feels different. Feels right. Like the sun is warmer, the light is brighter, everything's just - whole, in a way it hasn't been since Mavuika and Xilonen left.
So when the word comes in from the watchposts along the coast that a boat is approaching, Mualani doesn't care that the reports say it's definitely Fontainian. She knows Mavuika is on that boat, and of course Xilonen will be with her.

Xilonen was talking to Mualani before they came out to Fontaine. Mualani thinks Xilonen might finally understand why people get emotional about weddings now that she herself is married.
She doesn't, really.
Being with Mavuika is great, no regrets, only a few complaints that are almost all related to Mavuika's horrible compliment habits, but it was great before they were married, too, and Xilonen still thinks the transition from not married to married could be accomplished in about thirty seconds if people were willing to be reasonable about it.

Summary
When her own wedding was being prepared Xilonen's job was mostly to try and say no to stuff. (And usually fail.) Other people were very enthusiastically doing all the real work.
Xilonen has put a lot of hours into Miko's wedding, and at this point if the day doesn't go off without a hitch it doesn't really matter whether Miko has reached the point of being philosophical about marrying her love in the presence of her closest friends. Xilonen will test out every hypothetical vengeance she's ever considered for the possibility of Mualani one day having a crappy boyfriend on whoever is responsible and plead diplomatic immunity for the consequences.

She smiles and straightens to step back from the doorway. "Maybe I missed you anyway. Did you have fun?"

"Yes." Miko looks like she's on the verge of fury or tears. "Inazuma is under attack."

Navia is sure that the sound of Ningguang's teeth grinding is exactly the kind of accompaniment to a social gathering that Miko at least will enjoy, so that's lovely.
