Summary
Despite reaching his destination of Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Alberta, Robby isn’t ready to come home yet. Three months on his motorcycle should be enough—road, distance, and time—to figure out whether he can go back to the life that has consumed him for decades. But as Bonnie carries him from one edge of the continent to the other, Robby discovers that leaving is easier than knowing when to stop.

Summary
Robby is finally back in Pittsburgh following his extended sabbatical. He’s made a tentative truce with his dead but now must reintegrate to a department that hasn’t waited for him. New staff have arrived. Old relationships have deepened. Seven months of shared history unfolded without him.
It’s all a bit much for pre-07:00 Robby.
With a nasty stomach bug thinning staffing, the waiting room as crowded as ever, and a roster of new faces to meet and learn and supervise, the pre-Valentine’s Day shift is the usual chaos and then some.

Summary
With a month of work under his belt, Robby finds himself in some uncomfortable routines already. Not with the junior residents or the ever-rotating students, of course. They’ve taken to him without issue. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of his senior residents who seem further out of reach than ever.
It’s early—too early—and Baran won’t leave him alone. He just wants to drink his coffee and focus on the medicine but she has plans.

“Nah, just two colleagues needing to have a professional conversation about work-related
items.”“So you’re going to the principal's office.”
“Technically, it’s my office again,” Robby said.
