Summary
After each success, each instance of indulgence, Vox filled out more. That wasn’t the problem—quite the opposite, really, for no longer did he appear as though he would topple over in the slightest breeze. Rather, the issue was Vox’s adamant denial that he had gained weight, leading him to keep squeezing into his increasingly ill-fitting clothes without acknowledging how ridiculous he—and, by extension, Alastor—looked.

From the start of their partnership, Vox and Al have celebrated their triumphs with food. Nearly a year into the arrangement, the extent of their success has begun to have visible effects on Vox’s waistline.
