Summary
Dazai is already dead, but he throws himself a birthday party anyway. It goes poorly.
So Dazai spirals, and Fyodor handles it the only way he knows how: with control, precision, and a hand steady enough to let him disappear.
And it works. That’s the worst part.

Summary
Dazai-kun got louder. Moaning under his breath, exhaling sharp little whimpers on every stroke, twitching and grinding into his own fist like he forgot where he was—or more likely, remembered exactly where he was and enjoyed it all the more for it. His toes curled against the paper Mori had just been annotating. His heel smudged it.
Mori kept his gaze steady on the boy’s face.“What exactly are you trying to accomplish, Dazai-kun?”
Hips twitching, Dazai-kun bit his lip. “Oh—ah—who says I’m trying anything?”
“Mm.” Mori’s voice stayed mild. “Because it looks as though you’re begging for me to put you over my knee and punish you like a child.”
or: Dazai turns Mori’s desk into a stage; Mori decides that’s quite enough of that.

Summary
Dazai shifted, and Chuuya’s hand, traitorous as his ears, settled between Dazai’s shoulder blades. Immediately, Dazai melted.
“Oh, that’s pathetic,” Chuuya muttered.
“Birthday privilege.”
“It’s my birthday, bastard,” Chuuya grit out.
“Exactly. I’m giving my dear slug the gift of being nice to me.”
Chuuya scoffed. “That’s not a gift.”
“It is if you think about it romantically.”
“I’m not doing that.”
Chuuya is in a terrible mood on his birthday. Dazai, naturally, decides this is a problem best solved by breaking in through the window, bringing him a stupid pastry, and cuddling him until he stops hissing.
or: it’s hard to be mean when dazai starts purring like that.

Summary
Dazai smiled faintly. “And to what do I owe the pleasure?”
With a glare, Chuuya threw the star-mottled party hat at him. It hit Dazai in the chest and fell into his lap. “Put it on. You know what.”
“No thank you.”
“Put it on before I staple it to your skull.”
or: birthday wishes were, apparently, far more complicated than blowing out a candle—they required admitting he wanted something.
