Great. A week until Kaveh’s pre-cycle, and Alhaitham is suggesting that Kaveh try… what? Cuddling?
It's already frustrating enough to present as an enigma, but Kaveh's asexuality means he tends to suffer through his cycles alone and uncomfortable. When Alhaitham finds a study suggesting cuddling could help with Kaveh's upcoming cycle, it causes old feelings to surface and has Kaveh realizing Alhaitham might enjoy his company more than he previously thought.

“I think you mean ‘thank you’,” Kaveh says with a huff. “And you were ten minutes late coming home. I figured you either had to be kidnapped or dead.”
“The situation was close enough to a kidnapping,” Alhaitham mutters. He can feel the fresh air already entering the room, the alpha’s scent slowly dissipating. Kaveh’s remains, the damp earth and mourning flowers wrapping around him like a blanket. “Did you really think starting a fight was a wise idea?”
Alhaitham, being a beta, can't pick up on the emotions behind the scents of others. He can, however, get overwhelmed by things such as an irritated researcher leaving their scent all over his office.
(Or, Alhaitham gets overwhelmed at work and Kaveh helps.)
