Summary
The room is well-lit but shivers when Ryuk concentrates on Light's face; it distorts around her numbers, her name. Red like apples. Twice as bright.
She thinks about it so often, writing Light's name.

Summary
Light has a few tabs cached for research already and flicks through each for names, trying to put Misa’s fansite out of his mind: she’s not his biggest problem for now.
“Light,” says Ryuk hesitantly.
“What?”
It sounds a little snippy even to himself, but he doesn’t wince. Ryuk won’t mind.
“I’m really not on your side. You know?”

Summary
Maybe he would've picked a different world if he'd known beforehand… though all the signs had been there, hadn't they? Yagami Light, a miserable limpet of a stranger stuffed into the same body as his dead human, staring down a man pressing a knife to his cheek. Ryuk — perched on a telephone pole, always the watcher — had taken it as the shadow of a flicker of an ember of that wild ambition in the original Light: the real Light. Maybe Ryuk could extract him again, fish his favorite mass murderer out of all the ink Ryuk drowned him in. Maybe.
(What if TV drama Ryuk remembered being manga Ryuk — for Talons in His Mouth Tuesdays, Week 3: memories/possessed.)

Summary
He told Ryuk not to go outside, damn it — what if someone saw him emerging from Light's window, what if they've already called the police, what if Dad knows —
"Hi," greets Ryuk, poking his head out from above the deer head mounted on Light's wall.
Light screams.
"Are you really gonna do that every time you see me? Kinda hurtful, y'know."
(TV drama universe: Ryuk informs Light that being cooped up in Light's room is making his wings waste away. Reluctantly, Light comes up with a solution.)
