Summary
“Elio’s script still requires you to stay alive… for now. I don’t mind prolongating my vengeance.” He says, turning to walk away. “It might be… more interesting that way.”
It is then Dan Heng catches a glint of warmth in his eye, a twitch of a smirk in the corner of his lips, the echo of Yingxing’s arrogance. It’s only for the briefest of seconds, but Dan Heng sees it.
Then the moment passes, and Blade is walking away, leaving a trail of red behind him.
Aka a fic that got away from me by a lot! A handful of scenes filling in the gaps between the Loufu arc and the Wardance arc where Dan Heng comes to terms with his past, mostly his memories of Yingxing verses who Blade is now.

Summary
“I’m here to monitor you, you know that. We still don’t know what the source of Abundance is in this world, and—“
Blade raised an eyebrow. “Yes, because I’m such a danger right now.”
Dan Heng scoffs at the sarcasm, but Blade isn’t exactly wrong. Honestly, Dan Heng doesn’t know why he’s here, why he stays. He told himself originally that he HAD to accompany Blade while in Planarcadia. Blade was a danger to this place, and Dan Heng was one of the few people in the universe that could stop his destruction. But Blade has been fine the last few days. More than fine— Blade has been the most lucid and sane Dan Heng has ever seen him after the sedation. Dan Heng doesn’t need to be here, not at this exact moment, but something keeps him here all the same. He can’t walk away now. Or, maybe he could, but the ugly truth is; he doesn’t want to.
------
Over the course of a week, Dan Heng gets to know Blade in a way he's never had the opportunity to do before. Being able to know more about each other, they struggle to define who they are to each other now.Aka: HSR keeps having pivotal Renheng moments OFF SCREEN so I'm rectifying that.
