Shane grabbed his sleeve. «Is everything fine?»
Right there Ilya could have told him the truth. Yet it seemed like a waste to him, Shane was happy, he didn't have that rigid expression with which he protected himself when he saw Ilya feeling bad.
He could have been honest, but lying was easier and besides they weren't at that point on the list yet. « Everything’s fine. Good morning, moy lyubimyy. »
Shane kissed him back. « Good morning, Ilya. » as if my love and his name were already the same thing.

Ilya has everything he never thought he would have: his husband, his life as an out man, the best dog he could ever dream of, and a team that now is back in the playoffs regularly. His life is amazing, but for some reason his mind is struggling with the basic function of wanting to survive.
Shane doesn’t know how he got himself here. Things were difficult, sure, being out hadn’t always been easy for Ilya and him, but he had thought that until they were a team, they would’ve been able to make it. Instead his husband had attempted to take his own life, and Shane is not sure he knows how to cope with it.Series

Avrebbe potuto essere onesto, ma mentire era più facile e poi non erano ancora a quel punto della lista. Quindi si sporse e lo baciò. «Tutto bene. Buongiorno, moy lyubimyy.»
Shane ricambiò. «Buongiorno, Ilya.» come se amore mio e il suo nome fossero la stessa cosa.
