Summary
Dick leans down, pressing gently on Bruce’s shoulder. “Hey,” he murmurs. “Sleeping in a cave? Kinda taking the bat-lifestyle thing a little far now, aren’t we B?”
Bruce doesn’t stir at all.
The realization that something is wrong almost clicks into place, like his train of thought has snapped onto another track.
Just like that, everything is different.
“Bruce,” he says sharply, and this time it’s loud enough to border on a shout. He doesn’t shake him — Alfred had said hairline fracture on his vertebrae, and Dick hadn’t bothered to ask which vertebrae, didn’t ask any followups, why didn’t he —
His fingers find Bruce’s pulse — slow, too slow by a mile, his skin clammy under Dick’s fingertips. He needs to get Alfred down here, he doesn’t know enough about Bruce’s injuries, doesn’t know what kind of complications —
There’s a call button on the wall. He takes three quick steps away towards it away from Bruce.
And then he stops.
There’s a pill bottle out on the counter.

Summary
He wraps a hand around the boy's too-skinny wrists, trying to be the softest handcuff he can be, desperate to stop him from hurting himself further. The boy throws himself against his grip so hard his bones creak as Clark rolls them over, trying to pin him down as gently as possible.
To Clark's horror, he can feel the harsh lumps of old breaks under the fragile skin where the boy has healed wrong.
"You're going to hurt yourself —" he says desperately.
The boy screams at him in answer, a single, wordless shriek of rage and fear.
The strength seems to leave him quickly. Clark's surprised he had this much to begin with. His voice dies off to a weak moan, and he slumps back against the floor, small, fragile chest heaving.
His blue eyes are unfocused.
His face is familiar.

Summary
His first assumption when he sees the burning wreck of what used to be a car is that someone was trying to get out of town. Then he sees the tire tracks.
His next realization is that there's someone still alive in there.
Hal feels like Hal, in thought and memory. But the reality is that he's not much more than a whole lot of light that can think.
"Ah, shit," he says helplessly, the flames licking through his hand as he puts it up against the bottom of the shattered passenger side window. "Shit. I'm so sorry."

She really does mean it when she says she plans on telling Bruce herself. Seriously. It is on the to-do list.

The guy's still hobbling around with a cane, for god's sake. She can just say it and then bolt. What's he going to do, chase her?
And yet, somehow, the right spot to say these words never quite makes itself known.
Or: that time Steph got shot in the head during Batgirl (2009) is a bit of a bigger deal than it was in canon.
