Summary
Underneath, Simon’s eyes are dazed, his hair lazing around his face like a warm maine. Nose bloodied and teeth rosy from a cut on his lip. He smiles weakly at Grace, letting the zero-g carry him with nothing. Grace’s hands hold Simon’s face and he looks around at his temples.
“Did you hit your head? Did you get knocked out? You weren’t responding,” Grace directs Simon’s face so that they’re fixed right at each other. “You look dizzy. Can you hear me okay?”
Simon chuckles breathlessly, letting his eyes fall closed for a moment. “Can hear y’fine, Doctor,” he winces, letting Grace hold his face securely. It makes him miss gravity.

“Get out,” Nick mumbles against the glass. Ryland still feels like he’s lost in open waters, his senses dizzy, vision tilted, ears stuffed with cotton.
Shit, yeah. He definitely drank too much tonight. He’s hearing things, surely.
“Get out, Ryland,” he turns back to Ryland, his dead gaze hardened into an impassive glare. Ryland just stares back, eyes wide and mouth parted with a dying question on his lips. “I said get the fuck out!” He shouts, a mist of spit slicing through the air wetting Rylands cheeks. He flinches, shaking hands reaching for the door handle and pushing out.

“Simon, please-,” Ryland chokes out, his voice tearing into a squeak as the needle is jammed into the back of his neck. Simon’s spine stiffens and it’s as if he can feel a separate dose of something psychosomatic infecting his veins and prompting the triumph of his logic.
“Where would you rather die?” Simon utters, lifting his chin and keeping his eyes on Ryland. His voice doesn’t even sound like his own, but he accepts the side he’s taking.

Colt’s apartment was cozily messy, like usual. Some blankets splayed out in the living room, a clutter of cereal boxes, chip bags, and a loaf of bread lined up on the kitchen counter due to lack of cabinet space, blinds already drawn up from windows to let in some morning light. And.. a handful of empty beer bottles on Colt’s kitchen table, as well as an empty pizza box and deck of cards abandoned in a messy pile. Ryland frowns in thought. Colt was never big on drinking alone, maybe he had a few friends over?
