Summary
Bucks eyes drifted close but Eddie tapped his cheek gently.
“Hey. Stay awake. Stay with me.”
Buck tried. Eddie saw the effort in the tiny twitch of his fingers, the faint crease between his brows.
„He needs a hospital. This is most likely internal,“ Hen explained.
„I‘m…“ Buck slurred, his voice barely more than a whisper.
„Stop it. We‘re going to take you to the hospital, baby. Just try to stay awake for us,“ Hen said and Buck nodded his head weakly.
OR
Buck takes a risk at a call and end up getting hurt.

Summary
He pressed call once again and suddenly the call connected.
The phone barely rang before Eddie answered.
„Buck? Where are you?“
Eddie sounded worried but also confused and maybe a little bit angry.
A sob escaped Buck before he could do anything about it. Relief washed over him
„Ed’s…,“ he sobbed openly. „I need help. Please.“
„Okay baby. I can help. What happened? Where are you?”
Buck tried to breathe but it came out as panicked gasps. “I—I’m hurt—I’m really hurt—I can’t—Ed’s, I can’t get it off—”
„Can‘t get what off?“
Eddie sounded confused now.
„A bear trap. Around my ankle,“ Buck sobbed again by could hear Eddie’s sharp inhale from the other side of the line.
OR
after a fight with his boyfriend, Buck goes to clear his head. Things go horrible wrong.

“It’s okay,” Eddie said softly. “It’s for you.”
Buck reached out with trembling hands. His fingers brushed the warm cup, and he sucked in a sharp breath at the contrast — heat against numb skin. He held it carefully.
“T-thank y-you,” he whispered, voice cracking.
Sympathy washed over Eddie as he watched the man stutter before looking away embarrassed.
He pulled out his wallet and put a 10 dollar bill in the cup along with the spare change from the supermarket.
„Take care of yourself, okay?“ Eddie said gently.
Buck nodded. He looked at the money with wide eyes. His eyes filled with tears and he tried to blink them away. No one had been this nice to him in months.
„T..Thh.. Than…ks.“
OR
Buck is a homeless man in Los Angeles with no connection to the 118. This year it's getting way too cold in winter and Buck nearly freezes to death. The 118 responds to the call but it turns out that this is Eddie's and Buck's second encounter.

Eddie pressed his hand to Buck’s shoulder, grounding him.
“I’m coming back,” he said, voice shaking but certain.
“I swear it. I just need tools. I need help. I’m not leaving you here.”Buck tried to argue, coughing hard but Eddie cut him off.
„You matter. You hear me? Hold on. I‘ll be back!“
Buck’s breath caught — not from pain, but from the shock of hearing it.
„Hold on!“

Buck gets iced out after the lawsuit. A call goes wrong and he believes that no one is going to save him.

Summary
He only remembered the moment his feet hit the hood of the car and Chris’s voice broke open.
“Dad!”
Eddie grabbed him, pulling him into his arms, holding him so tight Chris squeaked. Eddie didn’t care. He needed to feel him. Needed to know he was real.
“Chris—oh God—Chris.” His voice cracked. “Are you hurt? Are you okay?”
“I’m okay,” Chris whispered, clinging to him. “Buck saved me.”
Eddie froze.
Slowly, he turned.
Buck was still half lying on the hood, chest heaving, eyes unfocused. He tried to sit up straighter when Eddie looked at him — tried to look fine, tried to look strong — but his body betrayed him. His arm shook. His breath hitched. His leg bled steadily.

Buck and Eddie don't like each other. But then Buck saves Chris as the tsunami hits.

Alex’s fist connected with Buck’s face before he could finish.
Pain exploded across Buck’s cheekbone again. His head snapped sideways, vision blurring.
Alex stood over him, chest heaving, fists clenched, eyes wild.
“You’re a hypocrite,” Alex spat. “You say you care, but you don’t. You say you want to help me, but you lie. You lie every time you move.”
Buck blinked through the pain, forcing his voice steady even though his cheek throbbed and his eyes watered.

„Eeeh….“ he whispered but it was enough for Eddie to know that Buck had tried to say his name.
"I'm here," Eddie said instantly and felt his heart break as he watched Buck drift in and our of awareness.
Buck looked so fragile one the supply room floor. It was unlike himself because he was a pretty big and tall person actually but this man looked nothing like him at all.

His stomach dropped.

The words sounded shaky even to him.
He braced one hand against the counter and stared at the metal protruding from his side.
Any paramedic, any firefighter, anyone with basic first-aid training knew what he was supposed to do.
Leave it alone.
Go to a hospital.
Call for help.
But for Buck this wasn’t an option.
OR
Buck gets hurt on a call but can’t ask for help because the lawsuit is just over and no one cares. Or do they? He performs self surgery.
