Summary
“I don’t drink,” Adam said.
Ronan didn’t know what this guy was doing at a frat house party if he didn’t drink, but Ronan was here and wasn’t fraternizing.
“Okay.”
Adam looked Ronan over then, scrutinizing. Ronan smoothed his face to blaize uncaring, which was an easy look to put on. It was one of his well-practiced masks
“You don’t have something to say about that? Everyone always has something to say about that.”
A few years ago, Ronan would’ve taken that bait, but it wasn’t a few years ago.
“It’s your life, man.”
Something shifted in Adam’s expression. Under all the caginess a spark of warmth. Ronan had passed a test.

AKA, another alternative first meeting au, in which Ronan and Adam are introduced at a college party by Blue, featuring a bi pride bracelet, slightly emotional mature Ronan and Adam, my headcanon for Ronan's college major if he ever went to college, slow dancing, Henry Cheng as the president of a frat, stealth matchmakers Blue and Gansey. All this and more in a story based of the first verse of the song 'Say You Won't Let Go.'

Summary
“Come home with me,” Ronan said.
Adam turned to look. The side of Ronan’s face was smushed into the pillow in a way that was sort of adorable, too soft for his hard exterior. Adam stuttered out: “What?”
Ronan shrugged the shoulder not pressed into the mattress. “It’s not a big deal,” Ronan said, although Adam definitely disagreed. “Think of it as… me opening my heart to fucking pathetic loser who has nowhere to go for Thanksgiving.”
Adam threw his pen at him.
--The 2nd part of my non-magic, alternative first meeting, they met in college, pynch series... in which Adam goes home with his boyfriend for Thanksgiving even though they haven't been dating that long and people have emotional damage to deal with but come out on the other side stronger.

Summary
“I have thought about it,” Ronan said, dropping his chin to stare at Adam. “A lot. The future… I see it, and you’re there. I’m a veterinarian, and you’re a lawyer-slash-engineer, and we argue about whose turn it is to take out the trash. We live in this stupid house that’s probably a fixer upper so it’s always in the fucking middle of a renovation project, but even after we could move out, we stay. Because by that time, we’ve already invested our goddamn heart and souls into it.”

When Ronan Lynch finds an abandoned child outside his animal hospital, he is moved to want to become an adoptive/foster parent, but due to his childhood experiences, Adam is filled with doubt over his own ability to be a parent.
Spanning college life to parenthood, and including everything marriage proposals and home renovations in between, this is a story about Adam and Ronan building a relationship, a life, a house, and a family.
