Summary
The war is over. The rebels are doing last minute clean-ups and sweeps, giving Team Voltron time to reunite with their families and their home planet.
The welcome isn’t as warm for Shiro. He knows it’ll take some time to adjust to being home for good after being away an extra year longer than the other paladins. Though his PTSD mixed with the begrudging opinions of the inhabitants of Earth, he can’t help but let the sadness get to him.
Lance notices.

Shiro drowned in blue every day. Lance overwhelmed him. Whether it would be through conversation, his personality, constantly rich with life, or just the awestruck beauty that stripped him sober whenever Lance caught his gaze.
He thought about all these instances, staring down Lance’s bedroom door.
How was to he confess his love when he couldn’t even articulate how much he loved the boy who bled blue?

Summary
Lance is the first one to find out that Shiro (or...Kuron), isn’t Shiro. The rest of the team doesn’t believe him, so he ventures out on his own to find Shiro for himself. Because that’s how sure he is that the love of his life is still out there.
Or Lance finally gets his chance to pilot the Black Lion. He wishes it was happening under better circumstances, but that didn’t matter. He would go against the entire Galra Empire unarmed if it meant he could save Shiro.
