Summary
After some more falling, he realized the landing would surely kill him. Even landing on a thousand mattresses at this height would be deadly. Upon this realization, he stiffened his lip and stopped crying.
With adrenaline still buzzing in the tips of his fingers, he decided this made sense. His entire life was just a series of losses. He’d officially lost everything. Now he would lose his chance at an afterlife. Even one in Punishment. Tartarus consumes mortal souls. The only reason he could even live long enough to fall to the bottom was because of his godly heritage. When he finally hits the bottom, his soul will disintegrate, and it will be as if he never existed. He’d die alone, with no one coming to look for him, no one to miss him, and no one to know he was ever gone in the first place.
The last thing Nico di Angelo thought before he landed in the belly of Tartarus was, “Good.”

Summary
In an effort to locate the Doors of Death, Nico and Minos traverse Tartarus together. The duo fares much better than Nico alone would have.
An unsettlingly diverse plethora of obscure deities, monsters, giants, and heroes seem oddly invested in the two demigods, though.
