Summary
This is a "what if" based on my first playthrough of the game. It finished a mostly good ending...but that river crossing was a heartbreaker for me.
It's November 2038. Most of us reading this will live to see this world. And it's a very rich world for storytelling and a very scary one because it is so close to the real world as it is now. It's been a long time since I've written anything of length, but the first time I saw Kara really know and accept Alice as her own aboard the Jericho, I knew I had to do something to keep that story going for me. As my last work ran to over twenty chapters, I think this will also be a rather long one. However, this will have more adult content. Specifically, depictions of violence, and adult sexuality (consensual, for the most part) and trauma. So, that's all the warning you get. It's a gritty world. Bleed red or bleed blue, there will be blood. Deal with it.
All that being said, what happens when the running stops and things actually start to return to some level of normalcy? To become routine? Even the most dedicated parent can have a mind that wanders...imagining new things....straying into fantasy. What happens when their need becomes the instigation of action?

Hank was typing on his terminal when he suddenly heard someone crying hysterically.
He looks up and sees Gavin running out of the break room, while crying and looking like he wants to scream.
Despite the fact that he and Gavin don't get along, Hank decided to help. The last time he saw Gavin cry was when his cat Pancake died, and that was years ago. He gets up and slowly approaches the younger man.
"Hey, Gavin, what's going on?"
Gavin just continued crying hysterically while Hank sighs and pat his back.
"There there.
Now what's going on?"
Hank internally cringed at his attempt to comfort Gavin, but he doesn't know what to do, since they're not close.
Gavin opened his mouth, still crying.
"Connor just T- Posed at me, turned his voice into mine and asked me on a date."
Hank just blinked, having no idea how to process this. He rubs his face and wonders why Connor always does the weirdest shit so early in the morning.Gavin is still crying hysterically.
And it's only 9:35 AM.
Hank needs a drink. -

It should be a pretty routine trip. Pick up the criminals, trek the nearly two thousand miles across the frontier, drop off the prisoners to be sentenced, move along to the next job. But thanks to the hired hand Hank is ordered to bring along, things go a lot differently than he planned.
Meanwhile, a bounty hunter tracks his greatest target, a ruthless killer with a ten thousand dollar bounty on his head.

Summary
When the DPD’s investigation gets too close to the discovery of Fae, Detective Connor Anderson is replaced by a changeling in order to keep the investigation from revealing the truth.
In the Feywild, Connor meets others who have been replaced and they try to work together to escape. They are able to escape their imprisonment, but cannot find their way out of the Feywild.
In the human world Connor’s changeling struggles with identity and a sense of self when his entire identity is being Connor but not being Connor. And he struggles with the morality of replacing Connor who has been kidnapped to the Feywild when he learns to love Connor’s friends and family and agrees to help them bring Connor back. While working on rescuing Connor though, the changeling struggles because all he wants is to be loved the way Connor is loved.
