Alex would do anything for Kara, has done everything for Kara. But entering into a sham marriage with her to sponsor her immigration petition might be a little too much. Or maybe the problem is that it isn't enough at all.

```i want to key smash and then copy every line from this fic its so wonderful. you take this trope that's generally meant to be humorous (or angsty) and make it feel so incredibly organic, where i could absolutely buy this happening in canon. and then, instead of just making it about sex, or pining, you explore all the facets of alex and kara's relationship - not shying away from the fact they are sisters and not discounting the intimacy they already share. i also appreciate alex' journey to accepting her feelings for kara was more complex than, 'oh i have repressed my lesbian desires for my alien sister.' im not saying i dislike that dynamic, i've seen it done beautifully, it was just refreshing to watch a different journey.
and i adored lucy in this, her comment about how alex would be happy with a lifetime of platonic intimacy was so true to both characters. i will always love the way you write alex. her complexities, her infinite capacity to love other people while destroying herself, but also, kara in this. i want to frame some parts of this fic because this is what so much of fandom misses - how weary kara is, how well she knows herself, because she has to, she's spent her whole life on earth conscious of every breath, every touch, every movement she makes in order to fit in. this is absolutely going on my list of favorite fics.
