And so they set forth into the unknown. A future undefined, uncharted, and in flux.

Summary
So what have we here? This is an ongoing compilation of all of the snippets, stories, sketches, and stuff that I've written (and will hopefully continue to write in the future) featuring the Garlond Ironworks and friends (especially Nero Scaeva). Please look forward to generally disconnected silliness with the occasional unexpected "emotional bit". Sort of like finding a bone in your PB&J...
TODAY'S UPDATE (March 3): What's this? An update? Indeed, "Nobody We Knew" is a little bit of Ironworks dialogue that takes place somewhere in the latter stages of Endwalker. Featuring Nero, Biggs, Wedge, and a lettuce sandwich. You're probably thinking by now that I can't write anything but script fics, and you would be wrong. In fact, I can't write anything, period. The fact that this exists at all may be taken as proof of the existence of something like an Echo, allowing authors to exceed even the limitations of their own crushing irrelevance. Huzzah!

Another continuation in the crazy AU idea I had (and directly following 'The Long Fall' story)!
Some time since the Scions repelled the Telephoroi from the Carteneau Flats, a hero find herself wanting to confront her fears before the true battle for the fate of the star erupts. Yet only one thing could possibly help her, something already departed from the world by her (unwitting) own hand.
Or so she thought...

Summary
To think, Garlond had the absolute temerity to be angry that he’d taken that risk onto his own shoulders (shoulder?), literally, figuratively, or otherwise? He had the audacity to lash out at him? It’s as though nothing could make the man happy—or, more likely, there was not really anything Nero could do to please him, except that brief moment, where neither of them had been looking at each other, just ten heartbeats worth of a space—
(“‘tis hardly fair to compare my youth to omega’s solitary existence...”)
From here, it is unrealistic to believe that there is a world or a time or a future where Nero stays here, where he enjoys staying here, where Cid enjoys him staying here, where they work toward a common goal. The possibility that they lean close and share secrets, that they share coffee and humor, and whatever else, feels just as unviable. The potential for that future had slipped by long ago, too long ago to measure. Maybe that future had never been meant for this Nero and this Cid at all.

Summary
Nero mused as he worked. While he knew he should be recognized for his genius in this arena Garlond had always bested him. Always been the one showered with esteem and praise that should rightfully be his. But now he found himself with an opportunity his rival hadn’t yet taken from him, a prize that yet lay unclaimed, and moreover it was one that Cid coveted.
In truth, he had not spent much time thinking about the Warrior of Light, his bruised pride at having lost to her years ago had kept him from considering her too closely. If he approached her, would she be receptive? He knew he was attractive and could be charming when the mood struck him, but what approach to take if the opportunity presented itself? Would she appreciate boldness or perhaps subtlety was required to win her over? His mind began to work on this new puzzle and he felt the rush of excitement as he always did when presented with a challenge.
Realizing Cid has secret feelings for the Warrior of Light, Nero decides to pursue her first. Though he was not expecting her to be so completely willing to his advances.

A direct sequel to "Weight of a Wish", the Warrior of Light--Autumn Dawn, rushes out to the field of battle as the Garleans mount another advance, with the supposedly slain Garlean Prince leading the charge. Summary
From 2018, I guess circa Patch 4.2-4.3. Certain events in 5.3 reminded me of the existence of this short story, in which Nero and Cid (in Sigmascape) try to explain to our gormless WoL what a "plenipotentiary" is while giving their limited opinions on one Asahi sas Brutus. It's very short—maybe about five minutes of your time you'll never get back, so I recommend reading it while you are also doing some unavoidable passive task, e.g., while riding public transportation, getting picked for a district court jury, suffering through an older sibling's high school band concert, or spending company time scrolling your mobile device as you sit on a workplace toilet (Remember: The boss makes a dollar while you make a dime...)

Summary
This is my entry for CidNero Week 2020 in which Cid regrets several things, one of which was waiting so long to visit Nero at the hospital (a regret Nero seems determined to reverse). A rather lonely piece I think, so it fits with Day 6's theme. This happens between Sigmascape and Alphascape (so, maybe around patch 4.3), but before the beginning of Alphascape. I say "happens" as if anything happens in it at all, but this is a lie, sorry. As for the shippiness of it, I'd say it's no more or less ambiguous than the writing of the game itself.

Summary
Nero flinched at the sound, the surprised tension fire through his muscles, followed by a cringe as whatever he was working on hit the table with a clangor. His hands smacked the table with a sharp thud. “I told you, do not disturb me-” he started in a harsh tone, turning to the tent opening, annoyance darkening his face. His voice caught when he saw her tall Roegadyn form in the doorway, eyes widening in surprise, then narrowing again, irritation still deep within. “Hm, I suppose I never told you to not disturb me when I am working, but I’d hoped you’d have had more sense.”
