“Becky is picking me up, Papa! I have time!” She whined and threw her dragon stuffy at her dad. Becky was not picking her up. Damian was. He woke up early to drive from school to her side of town and pick her up for school.
Loid checked his watch, “breakfast, now. Don’t make me get the gun,” he sighed dramatically.
Anya pulled down the walls she kept up in her mind to check her dad’s thoughts. He was definitely going to get the gun, “Papa! No!”
“Anya, yes!” He went to the hall closet and pulled out the brightly colored water pistol.“I think not,” Loid said quickly. His daughter wasn’t going to date his target’s son! That was asking for way more trouble. Plus his daughter was his daughter . He didn’t want her dating yet. It felt like just yesterday he saw her in the orphanage wanting nothing more than to go home with him.
“Loid,” Yor placed her hand on his arm, “that sounds lovely. If she’s well enough by then. Thank you for all your help, Damian. I’m glad Anya has such a good friend at school.” -

—¡Te comportas como si nos hubieran dado capas sin motivo! —bromeó, poniéndole la capa por la cabeza—. ¡Mejor no estar aquí! ¡Nadie podría vernos! —se rió.
¡Eres ridículo! —Se rió y se quitó la tela de la cabeza. Miró a su alrededor. Los pasillos estaban casi vacíos y subían a una escalera. Al pasar, agarró a Anya de la mano y la jaló hacia la escalera desierta.
—Damian, ¿qué estás...? —empezó Anya, pero Damian ya le había quitado la capa, la había abrazado firmemente y la había atraído hacia sí. Se inclinó y presionó sus labios contra los de ella. La mano de ella se posó en su pecho y ella le devolvió el beso con entusiasmo. Su corazón latía con fuerza, igual que el de él.
Él se apartó lentamente y le dio un breve beso. “Felicidades”, exhaló.
Anya aún no había recuperado el aliento. Lo miró con los ojos abiertos por debajo de la capucha. "Gracias", por fin logró decir, y lo atrajo hacia sí para besarlo de nuevo. Besarse en la escuela le parecía peligroso y le daba esa descarga de adrenalina que tanto le gustaba.
Él sonrió contra sus labios. «Si nos echan de menos en el almuerzo, nos notarán». Soltó su capa y la acomodó contra ella. Con la luz adecuada, pudo ver lo sonrojada que estaba. «Dios mío, qué mona eres». Le tomó la cara un momento entre las manos. «Vamos». Le abrió la puerta y ella salió un poco aturdida por los besos.
Caminaron en silencio hacia la cafetería y él la miró: "Te veré después de la escuela para llevarte a casa". Él asintió y se fue con sus amigos.
Anya caminó hacia Becky, todavía sonrojada.
—Anya... ¿estás bien? Pareces tener fiebre. —Becky la observó con preocupación.
—Estoy bien... estoy genial —sonrió antes de bajar la voz a un susurro—. Damian acaba de besarme.
Becky abrió mucho los ojos. "¿ En la escuela ? ¿Y si alguien te viera?"
“Me puso mi capa sobre la cabeza”, rió un poco y puso una mirada soñadora en su rostro.

Try to sleep it off."
"I can call in too and stay with you," Yor immediately suggested. Which wasn’t odd, in fact Loid had half expected her offer. Yor's need to care for anyone she deemed family had been ingrained into her as a child, stemming from a childhood of taking care of her brother. It was natural that the alpha part of her would want to take care of a perceived spouse, especially an omega one.What Loid hadn't expected was that when he went to reply—oh there's no need for that, I'll be fine—what actually came out was, "If you're sure."
Loid's heat makes an unexpected appearance. Yor takes care of him.
