She’d looked down at him with a furrow between her eyebrows. The sun had loomed behind her, turning her into a powerful silhouette that he’d immediately been enchanted by. She’d said her name was Lydia Bailey and that she was looking for—well, she’d cut herself off then, seemingly realising that he had no concept of what had just happened. Later, he’d learn that she’d been trying to cast a spell that would guide her to someone with whom she had the most romantic potential (“ Not a love spell,” she’d insisted. “Love spells raise all kinds of ethical questions.
