Summary
Quahaug has seen the war of Norzelia end a thousand different times in a thousand different ways. First, it was the search for Centralia, followed by the unification under Hyzante, and then the rise of Glenbrook and subsequent betrayal of Aesfrost. Two years after the war ends each time, he goes to sleep only to awaken the morning after Glenbrook's fall. Again and again, Norzelia descends into chaos and war, and Quahaug becomes a passive participant in history once more. After fifty cycles, something finally cracks, and this time, Quahaug finds himself on the day of Frederica's arrival in House Wolffort. Uncertain and worried as to how this has happened, he heads to House Wolffort early and realizes that this may be the chance he's been hoping for each time the world resets. Determined to change the course of history by saving Dragan's life, Quahaug sets out to fight against destiny itself, hoping that this ending will finally be something worth keeping.
(In which Quahaug has seen the clock reset each time the War of Norzelia ends in disaster, and he's determined to make sure the peace lasts this time.)

Cordelia has never liked alphas much, despite being an omega. She always shrank away, intimidated by them. Her duty as a princess and an omega had always been to one day marry an alpha, but being forced into marriage by a conquering alpha as she mourns her father's and brothers' deaths at the hand of those conquerers is a living nightmare for her.
So far, the only silver lining of this whole awful thing is Gustadolph's top general, a woman named Avlora-- who despite being both a woman and a beta, had risen to the top of Aesfrost's military, and is the only person to have shown her any kindness since Glenbrook's annexation.

Symon, 10 year-old son of Serenoa and Frederica as well as future leader of House Wolffort, wonders if he will ever be as good as his father. The man who begins in his dreams seems to be trying to tell him something.
Dragan, 7 year-old son of Serenoa and Frederica as well as future leader of Aesfrost, doesn't seem to notice how people talk about him. Why should he care when the strange man in his dreams is teaching him about explosives?

So Cordelia invites her over to introduce her to the joys of having fun through the art of flower crowns.
