"Slowly, cautiously, she reaches out for Aglaea’s hand, her intention clear in her mind. The golden threads pick up on it, transmitting it to their master, giving Aglaea plenty of time to pull away, to say something, to make it clear that the advance is unwelcome.
Nothing happens. Aglaea simply remains there, breathing. Cipher’s fingers brush against hers, long, slender, perfect. She lingers, hesitant, touching but not holding. Aglaea waits, her golden threads watching, her hand relaxed and still.
