Not exactly. But Anne is jewel-bright in the passenger’s seat, fiddling with the lip gloss, and Sasha has one hand for the wheel, the other stretched out for hope or for holding, so they’ll have to settle.
(In another life, they have more than this. Sasha doesn’t need it to be hers, but she hopes that wherever they are, they’re at least holding hands.)
