Summary
This story follows the end of the first movie, though I added an epilogue in honor of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Orm Marius has been released on the surface, with conditions. The tracker embedded in his ankle and whatever Arthur said to his friend Batman are supposed to keep Orm in check. And they are... to an extent. Orm is biding his time until things in Atlantis change, because it is unthinkable that he will remain on the surface forever. There is no life for him here, no satisfaction... nothing to achieve or become.
When real estate agent Erin Shaw realizes she's alone with two escaped convicts, she's scared. And when her son shows up at just the wrong moment, she's terrified. Orm was in the mood for a fight anyway, and when she staggers out of the apartment with a bruise on her cheek, reminding him hauntingly of his mother, Orm steps in to help her and her son without asking questions.
