Summary
Nowadays, Piers has many more good days than bad. Occasionally, however, he's forced to truly face how a virus continues to affect his body and his life. The worst reminder of that ended up landing him in the hospital for three full weeks. This is easily the second worst time: being exposed to a new viral strain that was, in part, a C-Virus cousin at best.
Chris fought for him to spend most of his recovery time at home, most likely aided by Leon's first-hand account of events. Piers doesn't know all the details. He does know that his body feels wrong in about five different ways, all the meds suck, food tastes bland, he can't sleep, and he can't even try to rest in his own bed — his and Chris's bed.
He also knows Chris can't sleep, either. Even when Leon is available to tag in to help.

Six grueling months of loneliness that Chris still hasn't managed to overcome. He's tried to move on, but with each step he takes forward, two steps are taken backward. The thing is, he doesn't want to move on because moving on feels as if he's forgetting, and Chris doesn't want to forget Piers
However, eventually, he's tasked to go on a mission assigned to him by Jill. He's not eager to get back out into the world, and he's looking forward to the mission, but he meets a man by the name of Ethan Winters along the way.
Is Ethan the person who will help Chris move on and eventually heal him from his grief? Or is the dark, sinister storm brewing over the horizon going to be the reason why things take a turn for the worse?
