Max and Punk being together wouldn’t be an issue if the universe was fair, but it wasn’t. It decided to play a cruel joke and make both of them alphas. No way to bond, no way to breed, no way to tie themselves together like Max needs them to be tied together.
He believes this for years, until he's told of a secret, a way to make Punk his forever.
He didn’t want to do it like this. He wanted Punk to agree to it, to enjoy it just as much as Max knew he could. But the bastard had to go and get himself fired. He had to take the bait and now the plan is all fucked up.
It’s better to ask forgiveness than permission anyway. Surely once Punk is an omega he’ll understand why Max did it. Max just wants them to be together.

After a number of crazy incidents including a hit-and-run, a poorly booked feud, a drunken kiss, a backstage brawl, a forced short tag team reign, and a lot of repressed trauma from both sides, they decide to put their bitter rivalry behind as they slowly discover new sides of themselves they otherwise wouldn't have before.
