Boom, nuke, they’re all dead, deal with it.” They never, even once, thought that these characters might have gotten really close to one another in this onslaught. That maybe the Deputy cares more about Pratt than both they should have and the developers did.
But that’s the glory of the community. If something happens in the game that the community doesn’t like, they can make up whatever they want in its place. Canon divergence, such a beautiful thing. The living die, the dead and dying live; miracles come from those pens, pencils, and keyboards.
And that’s why Pratt is alive in the Wolf’s Den, hoping that his partner is out there somewhere, wishing that he could lend some of his quick and panicked heartbeats to wherever the Deputy lay.
