Arthur has been taking odd jobs after the events of the inception, trying to distance himself from the team. It's just a coincidence that Arthur's in London, where Eames is, when these jobs get him into trouble. Arthur is the point man, he's supposed to know these things.
What Arthur wasn't expecting was Eames' mother to be living there as well...
Lots of Hurt/Comfort Arthur/Eames later on. Be warned, slow burn as plot is established pretty slowly.

Ohh, this is simply DELICIOUS, I'm so sorry it appears to be on hiatus (never say die!).
Arthur runs an op with a new team and it goes to hell in a spectacular way. He's in London, and so drags his sad and bleeding self down to one of Eames' safehouses. There's some lovely h/c for a few chapters, wherein Arthur's really too hurt to do much for himself. And Eames is soooo good at it, all drawling and flirty and love this and darling that. But pretty soon, they need to go back to London to figure out what the hell went wrong. And it turns out to be far more convoluted than they'd expected. By the end of the week, Arthur's picture is all over the country, wanted as a murderer, and Eames and Arthur can barely keep up with all the bad news.
Eames' mama comes home in the middle of all this, because of course she does. She's lovely.
And then, just as Arthur is trying rescue Eames' mom (being held hostage) and Eames is trying to figure out the betrayal of an old friend... the story stops.
Lord, though, it's very good, I recommend you jump into it anyway, just to enjoy 80k words of Arthur being competent and BAMF, and Eames, too, and flirting and UST (sadly still unresolved by Ch. 24 except for one kiss).
