(I began this story back in 2007 and am still working on it as of 2020. This was the first story I ever wrote, so it starts out with kind of immature writing, but I have definitely matured. Also, the beginning of this story is similar to the manga, but with differences that are important for the story later. It changes a lot around chapter 5. Hopefully, you'll just read and see for yourself.)

(I first wrote this story in 2007 and finished as of 2020. That's why the dates don't exactly match up with the current timeline. It was a big deal when I finished this story, so I hope at least some people read it. My writing has also improved over the years, so hopefully you'll see that change as well.)

Abandoned #2: This was a work I started because I was heavily into watching Black Cat, before owning my own copies of the manga. I dunno, I was going to continue working on it but as I re-read it, I realized that I was going to have to take the bare bones of the story and rewrite the whole thing.
If you happen to like the idea or way the story was headed, please let me know, if this work gets popular I'll consider taking another crack at it after my current projects are complete.

Seven years ago without warning Train Heartnet leaves the Chronos Numbers not to be heard or seen again. Weeks later an up and coming conartist is put on the FBI's list and Agent Peter Burke is sent to find him. After three years of searching he finally catches Caffery and for three years he sits in jail.
With four months left on his sentence Neal breaks out to go after Kate Monroe the love of his life. He is once again caught by Peter Burke but this time they come to an agreement. Neal will spend the next four years under his supervision as a consultant and he doesn't go after Kate.
Neal later finds out that someone is holding her captive and its up to save her. He works together with another thief to get the item needed for the ransom. Minutes before Neal and Kate are set to depart their plane explodes with Kate in it.Now a devastated Neal Caffery is set on the path of revenge.

When Train slumps into the old wood chair next to the heater and moves to take off his shoes, Creed walks to him. Train looks at him bemusedly, his gold eyes looking brighter than ever in the midnight shadows.
