Based on a tumblr post I saw by beaulionet about Beau and Yasha never being alone together because without a buffer they’d have no one to deflect their weird (disaster lesbian) flirting energy onto. Fic switches between in-game scenes and imagining the cast playing this at the table because half the fun of watching the show is cast reactions.
Original intention was to draw this as a comic but I’m nowhere near good enough to do that anytime soon so here’s a fic instead!

All of Critical Role is confined within the ruleset of Dungeons and Dragons. Character’s deaths are dependent on rolls of the dice, total luck, but things like attack bonuses and character traits can influence how much of a chance they have.
Fjord dies. Not because he should have actually died, but because Mercer forgets that half-orcs have Relentless Endurance, which technically makes all of his death saving throws a fluke. He’s retconning the timeline, but in the meantime, Fjord gets a glimpse into the true nature of their universe.

When someone had told Vex that the Gatestone only worked on the same plane, she wished she hadn't believed them, because this was definitely not where she had planned to go.
Vex uses the Gatestone and ends up trapped in another world, with no way to get back home. She meets the cast of Critical Role and learns that something bigger may be at play both in her world and this new one. Now she has to find a way to save both worlds and get back to her own, all while trying not to give away her identity to anyone other than the Vox Machina of this world.
This is going to be harder than she thought.
Vex gets thrown into the world of Critical Role and meets some new (and some old) friends.
