Summary
Halloween is a time to dress up. To pretend to be something that you aren't. But what if your "costume" turns out not to be a costume at all?
The cast of Critical Role are about to film their Halloween special when they decide to dress up as each other. But for Matt Mercer, this Halloween special will also double as his coming out party as a transgender woman named Meghan. However, not all of the cast is supportive of this and Meghan finds herself ostracized and eventually in dangerous company. Can the rest of the crew put their prejudices aside to save their friend or will this Halloween become a night of tragedy?

Matthew Mercer was tired. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. He’d been getting headaches for the past week or so, and it was making it really difficult to sleep or plan the next session of Critical Role. He thought he could ignore it.
The Mighty Nein had simply been on their way to town to buy supplies. Nothing had seemed strange—not until they arrived to see everyone there frozen in place, as if some spell was cast on them. But there was no magic. They had to figure out what was going on. -

Based on a tumblr post I saw by beaulionet about Beau and Yasha never being alone together because without a buffer they’d have no one to deflect their weird (disaster lesbian) flirting energy onto. Fic switches between in-game scenes and imagining the cast playing this at the table because half the fun of watching the show is cast reactions.
Original intention was to draw this as a comic but I’m nowhere near good enough to do that anytime soon so here’s a fic instead!
