A truth or dare game ends upbrapty when Ace opens up about his much he would do for his family. That plus him not understanding what "sleeping together" implies, ends up with the Whitebeard Pirates thinking that Ace and Luffy had a much more horrifying childhood than they could have imagined. Shanks is also involved in the mess, somehow, too.
OR Ace's low self esteem leads to the Whitebeard Pirates not knowing how to deal with Ace's "trauma", not understanding that there in fact is no trauma to deal with.

“Marco could be avoiding it since Luffy is your little brother.” Haruta chimed in. “You two are close, it could be he just doesn’t want to upset you by showing any interest.”
“He’s showing interest. A lot of interest.” Ace deadpanned. “Lulu is too and yet somehow both are missing it entirely.”
At that they all looked over to see Marco visibly appreciating the sheer amount of skin Luffy had on display with his pirate costume when the younger man was distracted by something one of his friends said. As per usual Marco looked away just before Luffy could turn his attention back to the conversation they’d been having before the distraction.
Rakuyo sat up abruptly, eyes wide and a smile on his face. “What if we help them figure their shit out? Like, we set them up on dates?”
“Oh, and just what kind of dates are you thinking?” Izou hummed, leaning forward in interest.
“Hell, I don’t know!” Rakuyo blurted, scrambling for something, anything, now that he was put on the spot. “We could drag ‘em ice skating?”

The third time Shanks collided with him in the paint, Marco began to suspect that the guy had a grudge. He had dived past Vista's screen, side-stepped Jozu and bumped Namur aside just to catch Marco under the basket with a shoulder to his ribs when he went in for a layup. Shanks was a bit smaller than Marco, but he hit like a damn truck.
When Marco sank his free throw after the foul and the ball came back into play, he pulled Namur off the other captain and stepped in to guard him personally. "You think we're still playing streetball," he sneered, "dumbass?"

Su padre por cosas de edad o como efecto secundario del alcohol, molesta, por no decir más, a sus hijo con que quiere nietos desde hace ya un tiempo. Es evidente que al hombre le encantó la idea de aceptar a los mocosos como sus próximos nietos, por supuesto. No comentó esto último, sellando el pacto con el Vice-Almirante.
Todos en el Moby Dick, incluidos los comandantes, y sorprendentemente Thatch. Se opusieron como pudieron al trato. Todo concluyó en que ellos aceptarían a a los nietos del Vise-Almirante de 6 años, por tiempo indefinido. Grap se despidió y dándoles las gracias de entrenarlos para ser la siguiente potencia marina. Desafortunadamente para Izou el sería el encargado no solo de ir hasta el océano del Este, si no también de de vigilar a los futuros nietos de Barbablanca.
